As was reported in the German Stock Market Journal ‘Börsenzeitung’ on 7th September 2017, John Cryan, Head of Deutsche Bank sees Frankfurt as the undoubted winner in the race for attracting London based financial businesses after Brexit. Although Amsterdam, Dublin or Paris may also benefit from Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, he would expect most of the work in the financial sector, which needs to be moved into the Eurozone, to end up in Frankfurt. He is convinced that the infrastructure of none of the mentioned cities compares with that of Frankfurt. For Deutsche Bank, Frankfurt will definitely be the center of all its business activities outside London. For him “the race is over”. His dedication to Frankfurt has never been as pronounced as in this most recent statement.
